LUTheatre named Society of the Year

Leicester University Theatre was awarded the prestigious Society of the Year award at the Students' Union Awards, June 2009.

Asked what prompted the Union to bestow this much-coveted prize on LUTheatre, Phil Dixon - Student Activities Officer - said:

"LUT are one of our biggest and best societies: throughout the year they have constantly striven to improve themselves.
Yet they have still managed to keep a solid core of individuals who are devoted to putting on great performances, working very hard not only on the stage but behind the scenes to ensure that each performance has not only a high level of interest from students but a high level of performance from their student actors."
