The Junior and Company sections have a structured badge programme.  Checkout their website – www.13thbromley.co.uk

Both Companies hold monthly Parades;  a joint annual Display in the spring;   a weekend indoor Camp for the Junior Section;  and a week’s canvas Camp on the Isle of Wight for the 11+ year olds.  We have also have a marching band for 11+ years, “The Pacemakers” who compete in national BYBA etc competitions - www.thepacemakers.co.uk.

The Girls' Brigade

The 1st St Mary Cray Girls' Brigade Company has four main sections - Explorers (5-8 yrs), Juniors (8-11 yrs), Seniors (11-14 yrs) and Brigaders (14-18 yrs) and has four officers.  The Company meets on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings.  It has a structured badge programme for each section throughout the year including the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme beginning at 14 yrs.  It has its own drum and fife band.  The Company wholly believes in the GB Aim – “To help girls become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ”.

The Healing Fellowship

The Healing Ministry is a very valued part of the ongoing ministry of the Temple Church.  It is expressed through the fortnightly meetings of the Healing Fellowship. More details are available at enquiries@thetemple.me.uk

The Singing Group

At the Temple music and singing play an important part in the worship of the Church.  The members of the Singing Group, who meet on alternate Fridays in the Church, help lead the singing before and during the morning services, introduce new hymns, provide special music for Festival Services, and share in local ecumenical services

Extra Time

This is our Youth Group.  All young people from Year 7 up are invited to join on a Sunday evening at 7.30 pm.  They follow an exciting and varied programme including videos, creative sessions, outings, discussions and silly games.  There is also plenty of time to talk, eat, drink and catch up with everyone’s news.

Men's Breakfast and Working Party

There is a monthly breakfast fellowship where the men enjoy a time of Christian fellowship for about an hour on a Saturday morning.  The breakfast is followed, but not linked, to a church premises working party of men and women when items of general maintenance are attended to.  In this way the premises are maintained in good order.

Temple Luncheon Club

There is a weekly luncheon on a Wednesday in the Moffat Hall which is open to all, whether members of the Temple congregation or not.  It starts at 11.00 am with tea or coffee, followed at approximately midday with a cooked lunch and dessert, followed by more tea or coffee, priced at £3.50.  The menu alters each week to provide variety.  So why not come along and meet new friends as well as enjoy a good meal.

The Mission Group

The Missionary Committee works together to encourage others to understand mission work generally and help to raise money for the URC Ministry and Mission target which the Temple has to reach each year. Once a month, usually on the first Saturday, from 10 a.m – 12, the Group hold a Coffee Morning with a Bring and Buy stall in the Vernon Hall.   This is a valuable time of fellowship, not only for the church family, but drawing in people from outside the church as well, and also helps to swell the fundraising.   The Group also arranges a supper evening, sometimes with a speaker, or quiz, or games, about once a year. On one Sunday each year someone is invited to speak at the Morning Service about missionary work and in the evening an informal service is held when a film or colour slides are shown depicting work of missionaries.  On these occasions, following a brief appeal, more Missionary box holders are added to the existing number and new members are enrolled in the Birthday Scheme

Women's Fellowship

This group meets weekly on a Wednesday evening, it is open to all ladies and in fact a good proportion are not part of the Temple congregation.  Evenings begin with devotions.  There is then often a speaker - many come from organisations such as Age Concern, the Samaritans, Hospicecare, Police, etc, as well as friends (many from within the Temple family), or perhaps a quiz or games evening or demonstration of a craft or some form of entertainment.  The evening ends with tea and biscuits and time for a chat.   (A "taxi service" is provided by members of the Temple for those without transport.)

Cray Men’s Afternoon Club

The club usually meets on the first and third Mondays of each month, except during August, from 2.00 pm for about two hours. It enjoys a variety of speakers and trips out during the summer months. The membership is drawn generally from men over 50 from the Crays and the surrounding area. Current attendance is between 15 and 20 and the club is anxious to contact other retired men from the area. About half the club members are church members and it is considered that it provides a useful way to make contact with other retired men in the area.
