The
Temple
Church
occupies a central position in the High Street, St Mary Cray.
It has been in existence for over 150 years, serving a mixed
Community from a wide range of social and environmental backgrounds.
The main Church building was badly damaged during the Second World
War and a new Church was built in 1951.
The main hall (Moffat Hall, in memory of the missionary Robert
Moffatt) was built in 1891, restored in 1950 and refurbished in 1994.
A booklet giving a brief history of The Temple Church is currently
available. The extensive
premises are widely and heavily used by a range of groups from both inside
and outside the Church fellowship.
The
Temple is involved in the local ecumenical arrangements.
We belong to an organisation, “Churches Together in the Crays”,
which includes
