We have no vacant plots at present, the waiting list for plots
in Romborough Gardens and other allotment sites in Lewisham is
maintained by Mrs Pat Hollamby, 1 Worsley Bridge Road, London

In 2000/1 we almost lost plots 1 to 7 to the development of a
new police station here is the story of how
the fight to remove the notice to quit was won
Bonfires
The Council has had complaints from the neighbours of some
allotment sites about selfish bonfires. We should of course
compost as much of our rubbish as we can, or take it to the tip,
but if a bonfire is necessary please follow these guidelines
issued by the council.
- * Only burn dry material.
- * Never burn household rubbish, rubber tyres, or anything
containing plastic, foam or paint.
- * Never use old engine oil, meths or petrol to light the
fire or to encourage it.
- * Avoid lighting a fire in unsuitable weather conditions
- smoke hangs in the air on damp, still days and in the
evening.
- * Avoid burning when the wind will carry the smoke over
roads or into other people's property.
- * Avoid burning at weekends and on bank holidays when
people want to enjoy their gardens.
- * Avoid burning when the air quality in your area is
poor.
- * Never leave a fire unattended or leave it to smoulder -
douse it with water if necessary.
