Okay, so just how much does it cost be build a Pembleton Grasshopper Supersports like Josephine and go adventuring?
Here are the approximate costings I jotted down on the back of a beer mat the other day:
- donor cars - £250
- Pembleton Grasshopper Kit - £1200
- Ali Sheets - £250
- Brake pipe kit - £60
- Rubber fuel pipes - £70
- Brooklands screens - £135
- Exhausts - £60
- Mirrors - £20
- Dashboard Switches - £25
- Seats - £150
- Lights - £70
- Indicators - £20
- Coil, plugs, points - £35
- Sundries (rivets, tools, cable, hose, etc)- £250
- msva - £130
- Registration & Tax - £66
- Number plates - £20
- Total - £2801
---------------------
These costs are off the top of my head, but I think are pretty accurate. I don't think I've missed any major elements / costs from the list. The only real guess is for the 'Sundries' which covers everything else I haven't included in the list. To air on the safe side we'll call the final figure a round £3000.
So for £3000 and a little sweat spread over (I'd say) 8 weeks you get to have one of these on the road:

Finished front view. Note new front grill.

Finished rear view. Note new light board design.

Finished dash layout.

Copper cockpit joint. My favorite design feature!

Cool dudes!
