RIVERSIDE Drama Company is to present two one-act plays in the Devonshire Studio, Long Eaton, from next Thursday to next Saturday (April 10-12).
The plays are the warm-hearted light comedy Camp Confidence by Diana Raffle, and John Godber and Jane Thornton's cocktail bar-set comedy, Shakers.
Lacking in self-esteem and overwhelmed by the issues facing them, Maria (terrified of birds), Blanche (agoraphobic), Donna (single mum on probation) and Cherry (an obsessive cleaner) enrol in Camp Confidence. Sylvia Holmes, Rachael Taylor, Liz O'Hara, Moya Magee,
Janet Lomas, Maggie Millington and Linda Ahern are the leading players and the director is Liz Turner.
Shakers offers a wickedly funny glimpse into the world of a local, trendy cocktail bar, particularly focusing on the harrassed and long-suffering waitresses who work there.
Donna Chinn, Kay Davis, Charlotte Lloyd and Liz O'Hara are the stars and Martin Holtom directs.
Tickets cost £5 (£3.50 concessions). All performances start at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Riverside Drama Company's website at www.riversidedrama.com or by telephoning 07793 7657211/0115 9170327.
They are also available at the Chatsworth Centre Saturday Coffee Morning (10am-12noon) |
