COLOURFUL
characters abound in Beeston-based Riverside Drama Company’s
forthcoming production Ghost Writer which is set to delight
audiences to Long Eaton’s Duchess Theatre
Colin
Tristram’s play is described as a comedy, a whodunit and a ghost story
rolled into one and Riverside’s small but talented cast of six is set
to make the most of an ingenious script which is full of fun and
hilarious moments.
After a spell in
the director’s chair Martin Holtom returns to his more familiar role
of leading player in Ghost Writer which sees him cast as Edward
Pinfold, a promising young playwright.
Martin, an IT
consultant for The Boots Company, teams up with Donna Chinn, a dental
nurse, who plays Rugby, a Shakespearean actress.
Sports
Journalist John Lomas (Alex), inputter Janet Bradbery (Glenda), energy
consultant Rob Osmond (Hedley) and Pat Clarke, a quality controller for
Broxtowe College (Frances), complete the line-up of players.
Schoolteacher
Liz O’Hara tries her hand at directing a play for the first time and
she is relishing the challenge.
'Directing is
much more difficult than it seems on the surface but it is a case of
trying to put your own ideas into a play and hoping that the cast picks
up on them,' said Liz.
Ghost Writer
is being performed on three nights, June 28-30, at 7.30pm.
Tickets, which
are £4 for adults and £2.50 concessions, can be booked on 01332 523102
or call in at the theatre box office.
Riverside are
also planning a production of the farce Noises Off in November.
