Alyssa and Holly get to grips

PIPER AND CORDY IN TELEPIC

Holly and former ANGEL leading lady Charisma Carpenter start shooting the ABC Family telepic SEE JANE DATE in Montreal today.

The plot sees several single guys courting Carpenter's title character, including former CHARMED guest star Antonio Sabato Jr, Zachary Levi (LESS THAN PERFECT), Evan Marriott (JOE MILLIONAIRE) and Geoff Stults (7TH HEAVEN). BACK TO THE TOP

HOLLY SHOWS HER STUFF
ADDED: 19.10.02

Few Charmed fans would deny that Holly has the lowest profile of any of the show's actresses. There have been no Doherty-esque tantrums and court appearances, no getting her kit off in a series of straight to video movies like Alyssa Milano and unlike Rose McGowan she hasn't turned up at umpteen film premieres wearing just a couple of pieces of strategically placed material.

However, the November issue of the US edition of Stuff should help change the image of an actress who her co-star Rose McGowan describes as "this little old lady in a young woman's body."

Sadly, the cover shot (shown above), shows distinct signs of airbrushing. Perhaps most obviously, her tattoos are absent, but it also looks like they've made her breasts larger as well as making her look about half a stone lighter. As if we wouldn't notice these sorts of things. Still, at least the other photos used seem to have escaped this treatment.

Also disappointing is the mini-feature on the magazine's website:

CHARMED, WE'RE SURE: Holly plays Piper Halliwell, the sexy middle sister [sic] on the WB's Charmed, a show about, well, three sexy sisters who battle evil using their magical powers.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF HOLLY: A decade ago, she began honing her craft on the TV series Picket Fences (opposite Tom Skerritt) and the D-level horror flick Dr Giggles, opposite that retarded guy from L.A. Law.

WE'RE MORE THAN FINE WITH HER BOOBS: "I'm fine. Honestly, if I wanted 'em, I would have bought 'em by now."

DOES HER DAD KNOWS SHE'S NAKED ON THE INTERNET? "I did one topless scene when I was 20. There was no thought in my mind that they could freeze that moment into 15 different pictures. The worst, I was thinking, was that stupid guy friends of mine could rewind it and play it again and again."

WHY SHE'S DATING A KEY GRIP - WHATEVER THAT IS: "The grips are the manly men. I don't have any interest in a guy who doesn't know the right end of a screwdriver."

"I think everyone should be sexually greedy."

The Stuff website features some great photos of Holly, here's a taster:

Q - What can you tell me about Holly Marie Combs from Charmed?

A - At 8-years-old, Holly Marie Combs and her mother moved from San Diego to New York where Combs studied acting at the Professional Children's School.  Combs began working in television commercials and print advertisements at 10.  For her first movie role, Combs starred opposite Don Johnson and Susan Sarandon in Sweet Harts Dance.  In 1989 she played Jenny in Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July.  At 18, Combs starred as Kimberly Brock on the Emmy Award winning Picket Fences.  In 1998, the animal-loving actress (she owns 17 pets, including one horse, two cats, two dogs and two lovebirds) won the role of Piper in Aaron Spelling's Charmed.  Craving more Combs?  Check out her official web siteBACK TO THE TOP

Or should that be "Alyssa and Holly get two grips"?

From E! Online's Ted Casablancea:

Let's switch shows, why don't we, but keep things just as scandalous [this refers to the Aaron Spelling/Jessica Biel story].

That's a big oui, oui, I think I hear.

Move a soundstage or three over to the set of Charmed.  Watch it?  I don't.  I've had all the Shannen Doherty I can take for a few decades.

Besides, the stuff happening behind the scenes is infinitely more intriguing.

Did you know, my darling gossips, that Shannen's two co-stars, Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano, are reportedly drinking from a Charmed brew when it comes to sating their dating needs?

Translation: Both chicks, I'm told, are dating grips, which, for those of you who are not terribly familiar with film-ese, means glorified gofers.

Love it!  I can think of a thing or two I'd like the guys I date to go for.  (I'm sure you can, too.)

For the record, Alyssa's rep says she's "not dating anybody," and Holl-babe's peeps I haven't heard a peep back from.

Whatever the luscious case, I'm not sure we're talkin' longevity here - it doesn't really sound to me like potions that'll last.  But Liz's longest marriage was to a construction worker, so what do I know?

Enjoy, girls!
