THE PLOT

Elliot Spencer and his fiancee Allison Michaels are discussing their forthcoming wedding when they see a mysterious blonde. The woman, Jade, reminds Elliot’s mother Grace, they made a deal and she strikes down Elliot.

One week later. Piper believes that she may be pregnant and that Jeremy is the father, unknown to her, Phoebe has a premonition of someone giving birth to a demon child.

Piper is catering for a high-society wedding, which turns out to be Elliot’s, except that he’s marrying Jade, not Allison. A priest, Father Trask, attempts to warn Piper outside the Grace compound and later confronts Jade with a large knife, but her assistant snaps his neck.

Allison tries to visit Elliot, but Grace tells her to leave. When she does manage to find him, he doesn’t appear to remember her…

Piper and Phoebe find Trask’s body. Jade tells Morris and Trudeau that Trask lunged at her, but Andy is suspicious about the body’s position in relation to the body.

Hannah tells Prue not to bother cataloguing a fertility icon as it’s been withdrawn from sale. Rex discovers that Prue has two sisters, and that Piper is catering the wedding, but that Prue won’t be attending.

Andy seeks Prue’s advice over the knife found on Trask. The Latin inscription on it reads "I shall not rest until the demon is vanquished". She persuades Andy to let her keep the knife in order to check out something.

Piper discovers that Allison was supposed to be the one marrying Elliot, and tells Phoebe that they should help her. But Phoebe isn’t interested since she’s convinced that Piper is really Hecate, queen of the underworld, pregnant with the demon child and that she has to kill her as soon as she finds the knife. Piper tells her that she isn’t pregnant.

Prue discovers that Trask belonged to a secret order pledged to stop Hecate, who he tried to warn Piper of outside the compound. Jade is a really a demon who comes to Earth every 200 years in order to find an innocent, put him under her spell and marry him in a sanctified way.

On the day of the wedding, Piper and Phoebe try to see Elliot. Jade’s bridesmaid tries to stop them but they do see Grace, and tell her that they can help stop the wedding.

Andy’s theory about Father Trask’s body is proved correct as he and Morris learn that his neck was broken before he fell through the window.

Piper and Phoebe are trapped in the wine cellar along with two of Jade’s bridesmaids, but Prue shows up and she and Piper use their powers so that they can escape.

The sisters and Allison try to stop the wedding, but Jade causes a storm and drags Elliot off. In the confusion, Elliot ends up with the knife and with some help from Prue manages to zap the demons with it.

NOTES

Demons don't bleed.

Next time she's back on Earth, Hecate might want to consider using a different name.  Not only does Jade D'Mon sound like a porn star but it's about as unobvious as The Master's various pseudonyms in Doctor Who.

Jennifer S Badger who plays one of the bridesmaids was a stunt double for Cordelia and Drusilla on Buffy and also played Vanessa Brewer in the Angel episode Blind Date.

THE POWER OF THREE

Prue throws the frozen bridesmaids against the wall.

Piper freezes a fly and then two of the bridesmaids.

Phoebe has a premonition of a demon child being born, and assumes that Piper is the one giving birth.

COMMENTS

Another disappointing episode.  Elliot and Allison make a pretty uninspiring couple and yet again there's a poor ending.

On the plus side, Piper's reaction to the pizza delivery guy is great, but that's about it.
