Invasion 1107

Cornwall was warm and peaceful when we arrived at the sleepy village of Polgooth in Cornwall. The were elements of the Lion Azure, Merchant Militia, Talastri and Wolverines in the mercenary half of the camp and the Hei Ravni had a large force present. The 95th Varangian Guard were camped up with the College in the traders area.

It looks like the Fir Cruthen and Lions are no longer fighting over possession of Cornwall as there are much bigger problems. Erin has been attacked and captured by unknown forces who apparently look very Celtic, which must be causing some fair confusion, though Cymria is safe for now.

The Lions ran a lovely ritual to Melaphine on the opening night, open to all to celebrate the lives of those lost recently.

Unfortunately the night was spoiled somewhat by somewhat suicidal attacks of what seemed like deranged people, something to do with the mercury mines that are used as a punishment hereabouts I understand.

Will be fighting for the College with the 95th Varangians and the Merchant Militia alongside the Lions, Vipers, and Hei Ravni. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much information available in camp about these invaders so we're going out heavily armed and armoured just to be on the safe side..

Unfortunately Rizon fell in the battle, but the diary wasn't lost.

Further investigation has led us to believe that the college force joined the Lions, Vipers, and Hei Ravni fighting against the invaders and the force took horrendous casualties, possibly in the region of three quarters. Apparently the invaders had caught the defenders out by a combination of superior tactics and unexpected techniques which reputedly included using magic in full armour.

Luckily the other nations fared better in the following day's battle which prevented the whole of Southern Albion from being overrun.
