Fayre 1104

This year's Fayre was held in a lovely location in the lands protected by the Nomads.

The merc camp was fairly empty. Apart from the Lion Azure there were also Black Company, Merchant Militia, a few independents, and a fairly large Draken contingent. The majority of the mercenaries present were kept busy guarding college members.

On the first night a wake was held in the camp in memory of the mercs that had fallen at Portents - especially Captain Carver of the Black Company and Captain Phellan of the Freebooterz who died in battle; and Broken Paw who fell under suspicious circumstances.

Unfortunately the area was also home to multiple groups of bandits who caused chaos with theft and kidnapping. Their attacks caused the factions to be a lot more security conscious than usual which lead to a reduced interest in the games that were held. Eventually a multi-faction force was sent out to deal with them which nicely stopped their raids.

The Wolves had a resounding victory in their bloodbowl tournament match against the Viper Navy on the second day (mainly as the Viper Navy were heavily penalised for attacking the refs). This result was then somewhat tempered for the Wolves by grave news. Lord Wall had fallen in combat against some big beastie, rumoured to be some form of joining that wasn't taking damage until he attacked it in some sort of special way that proved fatal to him as well.

It was a time of strange happenings. Lady Squirrel of the Algaia spent a lot of the time with a bell around her neck. On the third day Arvodd of the Merchant Militia was caught in a Viper matron mother's tent in some sort of unexplained embarrassing situation involving himself, Darius, and the matron mother's underwear.

All in all, despite the weird goings on it was a nicely relaxing time for all present.
