Saw Iain M Banks on celebrity Mastermind (he won, naturally). Went to pub.

Currently my intellectual life has been heavily influenced by: Steven Johnson's Emergence

  • StarLogo (only glanced: multi agent oriented graphical simulator environment, easy to use)
  • Epinions (Pier review/ranked list of all types of web products with kelko type price comparison)
  • Alexa | A9 (explorer and firefox toolbars respectively; implement advanced search and info functions, will change my life)
  • Playing Sim City 4 (and Civ. 4 coincidentally)

Also been arsing about with my MySpace, and new year's party photos up on Flickr

20 December 2005

Read Bloke finds self on Google Earth (sunbathing - from The Register) and subsequently embarked on a 2 hour Google Earth bender......and read through all of this 'Black Helicopter' spotting article of public submissions, also on the Reg: Link

Not looking forward to this if it comes true: Link (big, possibly flashing ads on Google searches and mail, v. distracting and crap)

Everyone who thinks my 'phone' is big, take a look at that!: Link (and no! I'm not lusting after it actually.)

Oh, i'm sure i was having a conversation about this with someone....or was it just with myself while reading new scientist?...anyway, apparently human-monkey hybrids have been attempted before, unsucessfully.

The irritatingly persistent farce that is 'Intelligent' design has been lingering for some time now being all non issuey, so this title made me laugh quite hard: "Federal judge rules on Dumbass Design: science wins" (yay for boingboing's refreshing childishness!)
