ECM/8 Event Monitoring UnitLester May Associates were commissioned by Ashwood Eco Ltd. to design and manufacture an Event Monitoring Unit from their initial concept. The unit is a dual band GSM remote monitor that is connected to a customer's equipment and will report via GSM if the customer's equipment's circuits have failed or if the consumables are low. When a fault condition occurs, a text message is sent via SMS to the Ashwood
Event Handler, this in turn relays the message to the Customer's chosen
personnel's mobile phone, emails to the customer's chosen blackberry/pda/laptops
and updates to the customer's own dedicated security protected website. The received message will be date and time stamped, give the location and
fault condition and uploaded in real time to the Latest Faults page on the
Customer's secure webpage. Comments can be added to that event for instance,
engineer dispatched, parts ordered etc. avoiding the need for a service manager
to act as a dispatcher. When the Engineer rectifies the fault a Unit Operational
signal is sent, again to the Customer's nominated personnel via the various
mediums mentioned earlier and the fault will clear from the Latest Faults page
and be placed in the History File. All previous events and comments for that
particular site can be viewed in this window. For further details of the many applications and operation of the ECM/8 Event Monitor contact Ashwood Eco Ltd.: Tel: 01252 876726 |
