It's a sad fact that when we are young we rarely take note of the past, much less wonder what it was like to actually live in those dark terrible years of World War II.
Perhaps those of us born to those that did live in that era were too busy making our own mark on the World to really care.
Sadly it is not until we lose someone we love that we do begin to wonder what their war time experiences were like. Then, of course, it is to late.
Photo of Dad
My own Father (who I lost some time ago) served in Eastleigh Nairobi for 3 years, yet I know so little of his time there, or of those he served with.

Part of the reason I set up this site was to try and find out a little more about those friends and experiences, as I am sure there are many others who would like to find out the same of their relatives. And for those Ex-RAF service men and women who actually did serve in East Africa, I hope this may be a link to finding your friends and colleagues.
And perhaps at the same time pass on some of the tales and stories of your experience whilst serving in Nairobi.

ADD YOUR DETAILS

There are many excellent sites on the web for finding ex-service friends, but as far as I am aware there are none specifically designated for those who served in Kenya during World War II. I hope by setting up this site I may be able rectify this. Of course this can only be achieved by your input, so please feel free to send me your photos and details for inclusion on the site. And don't forget to include any tales or stories you might like to add to our Tales from Africa Page.
