RB Footwear Since 1969

Welcome to the company page here at RB Footwear.com, if your a customer you may wonder where your boots have come from and a little of the company behind their design and manufacture. By scrolling through this page you can take a look inside the factory here in Northamptonshire England. All boots that can be found on this site are hand crafted to the finest traditional standard that is so very typical of British made products.

The company is run by managing director Richard Bishop who first begun designing specialist footwear back in the late 1960's after attending the Wellingborough shoe & boot collage. The county of Northamptonshire is well known for its boot & shoe industry with RB Footwear now in its fourth decade known and respected throughout. The company's premise's is set in a traditional Victorian building with many of its internal machinery dating to the same period and still in use today.

Mr. Bishop runs the business alongside his wife Wendy whom also like Richard himself works on the factory floor hand crafting the boots between them. After the footwear leaves the design/cutting room they
reach the machinists and are what's commonly known as 'closed' by Val Newman and Wendy Bishop, from here on they then reach thefinishing room where they finally take shape around a traditional wooden last before fitted with their respected sole.

Interestingly enough and contrary to popular belief the business has been very much a small family affair with Richard himself still to this day working with the boots in each department from the early design stagesright through to the finished products. Quite often is the case that on the build up to a world championship fight many world famous boxers have made a visit to the factory to work closely alongside Wendy and Richard in order for the highest standard of specially designed boots to meet the ring floor on the big night. The following images on the remainder of this page will give you a small insight of what's behind your pair of boots.
