If an Architect / Agent is confident in their 'advice and quality of service',

ie - achieving the approvals as indicated during their survey -

Why 'not' charge once plans are approved ?

If the Architect / Agent cannot afford to wait for payment, are they trading insolvently? Surely they have money in reserve to pay Tax and National Insurance etc, these being due well into the future.
If an Architect / Agent insists on you paying prior to approval of your application, would he be likely to place future 'new works' (where payment is about to be received) before your ongoing application, where no payment incentive remains?

By charging my clients after my plans and associated paperwork is approved by the authorities, I compel myself to have to provide a good quality of service.  There is no excuse for poor service.  I take personal pride in keeping to my agreements.
