Traditionally, the Triumph Sports Six Club (TSSC) has primarily catered for Herald and Spitfire based vehicles including the Herald, Spitfire, Vitesse, GT6, Bond Equipe and Specials based on the mother chassis or mechanicals. Linking to the latter, the club also features a register for the Herald engined amphibious Amphicar.
As a further evolution, in 2002, the Club's 25th Anniversary year, the TSSC took on additional formal aims which included the promotion and preservation of Standard Triumph vehicles and their derivatives in general and hence opened its doors to owners and enthusiasts of all Standard Triumph cars including, additionally, 1300/1500, Dolomite, TR series, Stag, 2000/2500 and more. For more information on the national club please follow the link to the TSSC official site.
You do not need to be an expert in order to come along to club meetings. Everyone is more than welcome, the atmosphere is laid back, informal and friendly, and there is a lot of technical knowledge within the club, so if you ever have a question or need help with a project, there will be someone who can help!
The club meets on the first Monday of the month - subject to change when this falls on a bank holiday. This is at Caistor Hall, Caistor St Edmund, near Norwich. The "business" part of the meetings start at about 8 p.m. and this is followed by talks, activities, quizzes, noggin & natter and the monthly raffle.
The club is represented at various local and national events.
For details of this year's planned events, please click on the events list in the left hand sidebar.
Club members have travelled around Norfolk and far beyond; Jabbeke Run, Le Mans,
Loire Valley, Burgandy, Peak Run; Duxford; Isle of Wight; S.E.M. and of course Stafford.
We also have many locally organised trips out. Check out Grand Day Out
for information on these and other events the club has attended over the years.
The National TSSC event that is hosted by
Norfolk is the
Mile of Triumphs in September.
This event has grown considerably since the first show in 1998. The original purpose of this event was to try and park a
Mile of Triumphs along Great Yarmouth sea front. The show has developed over the years as we have tried to extend
the range of activities to accommodate those who are not solely interested in cars. In fact, we have tried to
give the event a village fete feel alongside the classic car and motor cycle show.
Money raised at the MOT is donated to the East
Anglian Childrens' Hospice. Over £38,500 has been raised for this charity since 1999!
Well, the Mile of Triumphs held in September 2009 was once again a success.
We raised £4,900 for our charity, the East Anglia's Children's Hospices.
