Manchester, home to the best football team in the world (their ground is just visible from the Old Trafford tram stop), is also home to a growing tram network.
Today the network currently consists of 35 stops on 3 separate lines, the Eccles line opened in 2000, whilst the older Bury and Altrincham lines opened in 1992.
They are all linked through a street running City Centre section.
A map of the network can be found at Metrolink Map
The original 'Manchester Metrolink Pub Crawl' consisted of attempting to drink half a pint in a pub close to each of the stops on the Bury, Altrincham and City Centre parts of the network.
However, with the opening of the Eccles line, and the future lines being built to The Trafford Centre, The Airport, Ashton, Rochdale and Stockport, you can mix and match and make up your own 'Metrolink Pub Crawl' - some lines will be a pub crawl in themselves, the Rochdale and Airport lines will each consist of approximately 25 stops each.
A map of the future planned Metrolink network can be seen here.
I suggest reading the 'Advice' page before setting off.
Have fun.
