City Centre

Home Metrolink Pub Crawl Manchester Metrolink Holidays

The city centre consists of 8 stops, Victoria, Shudehill, Market Street, Piccadilly Gardens, Piccadilly Station, Mosley Street, St. Peters Square and finally G-MEX.

Victoria

Working southbound through the city centre, the first station you arrive at is Victoria, southbound trams arrive at platform C, to get to the nearest pub walk towards the main concourse on the train station, the station is in the right corner of the concourse.

A view from outside the side entrance of Victoria station, a view you will probably not see.

The picture above shows the outside of the pub that is on the concourse at Victoria station.

Shudehill

Shudehill station opened on 31st March 2003, and as such is the youngest Metrolink station at present. (note the picture above was taken when the station was built but not open to the public). Shudehill is just passed the Printworks, the location of your next half pint.

About 50 meters back towards Victoria station is 'The Printworks' a large complex of entertainment outlets, mostly pubs. The closest place selling beer is the 'Hard Rock Casino' the second such establishment in the world to open (the other one is in Las Vegas). However, to be able to get in the HR Casino, you need to be a member, and not drunk. Note, it is only open after 4pm as well (shuts at 4am). Before 8pm all drinks are 2 for the price of 1.

Instead of going to the HR Casino, you may chose to go the Lloyds No.1. Turn left to walk along the side of 'The Printworks' instead of going in the HR Casino, enter 'The Printworks' at the first entrance, the pub is on your left, about 2 minutes walk from the tram station.
