Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 15th June 1999 at The Exhibition, Godmanchester. The meeting commenced at 8:15 p.m.

PRESENT:Gubby Panesar Chairman, Chris Hehir Treasurer,                              Brian May     Captain/Secretary, Kulbir Singh Vice Captain

APOLOGIES: Apologies for absence were received from Nick Gabb.

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING :These were read and agreed.

3. MATTERS ARISING

There were no matters arising.

4. TREASURER’S REPORT

The Treasurer reported that we had a current account balance of £952 plus £440 for the weekend away. Thirteen members and a guest played at the last event generating a profit of £18 after a £25 adjustment from previous deposit. The Chairman voiced a vote of thanks to the treasurer.

5. LAST EVENT

The last event was at Mowsbury Golf Course on Friday 21st May where 14 players enjoyed an inexpensive day of golf including breakfast. Bob Pearson won this Medal event with a net score of 67, the runner-up was once again Neal Tipper with 68. Longest Drive was taken by Nick Gabb and Nearest the Pin by Robin Foster.

6. NEXT EVENTS

The June event will be at Malton on Saturday 26th, departing at 10.45 for bacon roll at 11.15 and first tee off at 12.00. The cost will be £18 for members and £20 for guests. Could members please remember to bring their registration card if they played at Malton last year.

The next event will be after the Annual Trip on Friday 23rd July at Thorpe Wood departing the Exhibition at 9.30am for a 10.36 first tee time. The cost will be £14 for members and £16 for Guests.

Any body wishing to attend either event is requested to let the Captain know.

7. 1999 ANNUAL TRIP

The trip, which is to be based around Cromer over the weekend of the 16/18 July, has been confirmed and 15 members have paid their deposit and confirmed attendance. The event is now open to Guests at a cost of £175-£180. The balance of the cost must be paid by the end of June.

8. CORRESPONDENCE

The Chairman sent out a letter advising the forthcoming events.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

The Chairman is to investigate iron-on badges for members. The Captain tabled a proposed list of dates and venues for consideration.

10. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: The meeting closed at 9.15 p.m.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday 13th July in the Exhibition at 8.15 p.m.

The meeting commenced at 8:15 p.m.

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

These were read and agreed.

3. MATTERS ARISING .

There were no matters arising.

4. TREASURER’S REPORT

The Treasurer reported that we had received income of £73.20 from a Xmas Raffle and £31.75 from the last event with a further £60 in non-attendance fees outstanding. The current account balance is £797. The Chairman asked the meeting for a vote of thanks to the Treasurer.

5. ANNUAL DINNER

The Annual Dinner was a resounding success and a letter of thanks had been sent to the Management and Staff. The meeting gave a vote of thanks to John De'Ath and his wife for organising the raffle on the night.

6. NEXT EVENTS

The next event will be at Lakeside Lodge, Pidley on the 20th February and is limited to 12 people. Please let the Captain know if you wish to play and he will advise you of your tee time and the cost circa £12.

The March event is provisional and will be a full day including meals at Abbotsley Cromwell course, full details will be posted on the notice board.

The meeting discussed the possibility of a social event in the spring.

7. 1999 ANNUAL TRIP

It was agreed that the annual trip would be to France on the 10/12th July at a cost of about £160. Ferry and hotels to be booked for 12 people (4 cars). Full details would be finalised in February but a deposit of £50 would be required by mid-March.

8. CORRESPONDENCE

An E-mail had been received regarding linking with the GMC web site.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

There was no other business.

10. DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The meeting closed at 8:50 p.m. The next meeting will be on the 24th February 1999.

APOLOGIES Apologies for absence were received from Bob Pearson.

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

These were read and agreed subject to a correction regarding the profit from the last event which was £33.60 rather than £23.60.

3. MATTERS ARISING . There were no matters arising.

4. TREASURER’S REPORT

The Treasurer reported that we had received income of £2560 against an expenditure of £2946 in the current year giving a current account balance of £720. Some payments for the last event were outstanding and the forecast was for a loss of £23.

5. LAST EVENT

The last event was on Sunday 22 November at Corby Golf Course where ten members attended the event. The event was won by Mark Bird and the runner-up was Paul Simpson. Longest drive was won by Neal Tipper and Nearest the Pin by Tony Benbrick.

6. NEXT EVENTS

No golfing events are planned for December and January. The next social event will be the Annual Dinner at the Exhibition on the 10th December, tickets are £15 and there will be a tombola/raffle organised by John De'Ath and his wife.

7. 1999 ANNUAL TRIP

An extraordinary meeting took place in the Comrades Club attended by a quorum of the society where the following options were discussed and voted upon by ballot:

Norfolk Package costing £150-£170

Eastbourne Package costing £140-£160

Western Package costing about £150

Midlands Package costing £170 in July only

Northern France Package costing £170-£190.

Those present voted in favour of a trip to France early in July at a cost of up to £190. BM to investigate precise details and costs.
