Site History: NON LLSC SITE - Glenshee is an Angus club site - an established ski and flying area with chairlift access. In previous seasons the chairlift has opened for the summer, however in 2000 / 2001 the chair has only opened for the ski season due to operating costs.

Brief Site Description: Ski area with chailift open from November - April (snow dependant).
How to get there: On the A93, 22 miles North of Blairgowrie, the ski area straddles the main road.

Launch Notes: Hang-gliders: From the top of the Tiger chair, follow the worn track past the Cairnwell hill top to the flat rigging area. Beware of paragliders launching below HG launch.
Paragliders: As per HG, then go past the HG rigging area and walk down the rocky slope to launch from the grass / heather plateau. Beware of HG's launching overhead. Other PG launch options are possible on the various faces, but need assessed on the day.
XC Tips: Good site for XC, with typical XC routes towards Braemar. Current (at 2001) XC site record (and British Dual PG record) is 110km set by Ulric and Ruth Jessop on 3rd June 2000 on a flight to Glen Kingie, N.W. of Fort William.
Top Landing Notes: Although HG top landing is possible, it is not recommended since the ground is uneven and boggy in places. Paragliders can top land anywhere, but beware of soft / uneven ground.
Bottom Landing Notes: Hang-gliders: Land beside large lay-by South of Cairnwell. Windsock advisable in thermic conditions.
Paragliders: As per HG landing, or can land anywhere, with regard for skiers and terrain.
Hazards: Hazards are the ski-lift cables and a few fences.
