In The Mood

The 40's & 50's Tribute

In The Mood has been created to take the audience back in time to the war period that defined this country and to the decade afterwards when the world embraced a new era of rock and roll.

It all begins with a stage blackout with only searchlights and a speech by Churchill, the audience is then lifted straight up and into some of the finest tracks that kept our troops fighting. The 40's continues with hits from the likes of the Andrews Sisters, Vera Lynn & Anne Shelton. The War years have their own brand of music that is captured perfectly from the trepidation of waving the boys goodbye through to the celebrations of VE day
and beyond. The first half finishes with a rousing rendition of 'There'll always be an England'

Moving on into the second half of the show the pace is picked up to cover the 50's era, where the emphasis was on enjoyment as the world emerged from the problems of the 40’s. Showing just how much music was transformed songs are included from the likes of Buddy Holly, Connie Francis and the kings and queens of the dawn of rock and roll!

With authentic costumes, fantastic lighting and amazing vocals, In The Mood is guaranteed to transport you back to those golden years and bring back all of your dancehall memories.

We aim to make the live show enjoyable for everyone, those that remember the era and also for those that are being introduced to the music for the first time. Hopefully there is a little something in there that will touch everyone's hearts. I want people to leave the show feeling that they were a part of its success, to this end I will encourage audience participation wherever possible. From singing along with the war classics to jiving and bopping on the dancefloor.

What I perform can be tailored to the venues needs, down to what songs they would like, how they would like the night to go and what other background music they would like to be played.

The aim is always to please!

Equipment

I use a range of the following equipment depending on the venue:

  • Yamaha powered speakers

  • Laney powered monitors

  • Yamaha mixing desk

  • MP3 backing tracks through a laptop

  • Full lighting show

  • Fogger/smoke machine

  • Sennheiser radio and corded microphones

  • Over 1000 tracks of background / party music

Using a radio microphone allows me to get out and about and into the audience and cause my own brand of mischief!

I am fully insured and a member of Equity.
