Date April 1940 After doing convoy escort duties on the East coast she then took part in the Norwegian campaign and received (Battle Honours) for her part. She brought back 350 troops from Aandalsnes and towed HMS Pelican which had its stern blown off back to Lerwick
Date 01/04/1941Fleetwood then joined the Escort Force in Londonderry in the Sloop Flotilla covering the Western approaches to Freetown convoy route.
Date 08/11/1942 Transferred to operation Torch and the North African Landings Then the follow up, escorting convoys to and from North Africa supporting the campaign. Based in Gibraltar (Battle Honour)
Date 03/02/1943 Resumed duties on the Londonderry to Freetown convoy run and sank U528 on the 11/05/43 Took prisoners back to Gibraltar and remained there on loan escorting convoys (Battle Honour)
Date 01/11/1943Escorting convoy OS56 she attacked and sank U340 of Cape Spartel (Battle Honour)
Date 16/12/1944 Transferred to Portsmouth doing convoy duties in the English Channel till the end of the War ( Battle Honour English Channel and Battle Honour Atlantic 1940-44) Date 04/08/45 Arrived in the Tees and placed in reserve in Hartlepool
