POWER..................... I started with an LGB starter set, I used that controller to start with but as I picked up the odd loco or 2, I realised that I needed something bigger. I bought a 2.5 amp Gaugemaster controller, which was fine, till I saw the Aristocraft Train Engineer in use......... So I got one of those as well........which was great till I saw LGB’s MTS in use and heard a steam engine using MTS sound .........WOW!..... So now I use MTS. It’s very easy to use, and for the money very good value
TRACK...................... All my track is LGB. I use R1 curves everywhere. WHY?
BECAUSE ITS THE ONLY WAY I CAN FIT A GARDEN RAILWAY IN MY GARDEN.
If I didn’t use them, it would be a very short “end to end” layout. My track is lightly pinned down on to decking boards which in turn are screwed to stakes in the ground. (Decking boards are tannellised - they shouldn’t rot for 25 years). I have just fitted Hillmans railclamps, to help with running These have made a big difference and are worth the money.
RUNNING...................... I RUN TRAINS EVERY DAY - RAIN, WIND, SNOW, FOG, SUNSHINE, HAIL.- IT DOESN’T MATTER! Tthe only time they aren’t running is when I am not here. (On holiday??)
The Future?......... Hopefully, in the not too distant future we will have a live web cam, so you will be able to see what I’m talking about...........
THANKS................ I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who have helped me on my way Tim, and Stewart at Arcadia, for tea and advice. The G Scale Society.....G Scale Mad crew.... all my friends....... Ian for building this web site, and most importantly - Walter Topping, for getting me started.
