Although a little bit out of our timeframe the Newcastle link justifies inclusion. Here we see a Leyland Cub (EBB 304) of Newcastle City Fire Brigade on display at Preston Park Fire Engine Rally, Stockton, June 2008.
Newcastle & Gateshead joined forces on 1st April 1948 and later became part of Tyne & Wear on amalgamation(1974). Scheme is the early 'chocolate box' colours, later revised.
Other Tyne & Wear and pre-amalgamation appliances were on display which we shall cover in later features.
