The North Division 'Gossip Column' took the form of the magazine 'Slip & Snitch' and was an attempt to rekindle the days of the 'Whirlpool'.
This was of course the first Tyne & Wear magazine which came to an end on a controversial note. The content and format were similar with Station contributions, general news, together with features and of course humor.
Slip & Snitch was a play on the common heard phrase (on the drill ground) of Slip & Pitch - the removing of a ladder from an appliance & placing it against the drill tower.
It had been issued as a cheaper station flyer and this was an improved version with glossy format in booklet form.
Cover shows view from a Gateshead side fire damaged church clock tower-looking onto the Tyne Bridge.
