This is the next set of seeds we will
be sprouting as it is, after all, Florida's State tree.
It is only too fitting to include this
tree in our collection as soon as possible!

This is the start of something big!

Well, we had to wonder if these were ever going to come up,
and well, they never (Aug 9-03). So I thought I'd look under to see if I could see any root
progress. To my wonder, they looked like an M&M candy™
with a spaghetti noodle attached! So I planted them in larger pots to see if
that would help their growth. They have not decided to come up yet but watch this space!

The two seeds never surfaced
(Aug 30-03), but the roots made it out the
bottom of the two pots! So they were transplanted into larger pots still, and
after all this time the little guys (gals?) finally made it up, below is the
first of them, WHEW what a long process! We are hoping for two very big things!!

We have left these trees in the same pots
(Sept 19-03), and I will tell
you, they are really, really slow starters!

This tree was very anticipated
(Nov 09-03), and has finally decided to
make an appearance! It has been a long time coming but we are very hopeful for a
lovely couple of trees!

This should
demonstrate the slow growth of these lovely trees. (Feb 07-04)
Below you will see
that they just don't burst out with new leaves that often! (May 09-04)

The Palmettos are unfortunately
VERY slow growing!
