We are growing (or trying to grow) more seeds. These have been brought back from America whilst my Brother-in-law and his fiance was on holiday in Florida. They brought back some beauties! We hope they grow!

Here's a picture of most of them in their starting bags, and a link to what they will become once they mature.

Sentry palm or Curly Palm - Howea belmoreana

Cat Palm - Chamaedorea cataractarum

Cardboard or Bamboo Palm - Zamia furfuracea (Jamaica Sago Tree)

Seashore Palm - Allagoptera arenaria

Red Latan Palm - Latania lontaroides

Christmas Palm - Veitchia merrillii

Foxtail Palm - Wodyetia bifurcata

The funny part of this story, is that the Sentry Palm seeds along with the others, were kept in a very dark dry place for months. When we decided it was time to begin with propagation, we were astonished to find that four of the five seeds had already sprouted and were growing, in complete darkness with no soil!!!

SEED UPDATE!!!

Sadly all but one sprout died, as the weather in the UK is not conducive to tropical seed sprouts, (or the planter, me, has a black thumb). I think it was a conjunction of both! Anyway here's a picture of the sole survivor. The one on the right didn't make it :(
