Qualifications
BA (hons) in English and Welsh
Ph.D. in the sociology of education.
Postgraduate certificate in periodical journalism from the London College of Printing.

Experience
I've been a freelance journalist since 1999 after working as a staff writer at IT Week. Before that I spent a number of years in the IT industry as a technical author and manager, and I've also worked in universities as a researcher and lecturer.

Skills
My skills include editing, feature-writing, news-reporting, subbing, and proofing. I can also touch type.
