Who are we?

Logs for Sale

The work carried out by Stephenson Tree Services generates a large amount of wood which is held by us and processed for firewood.  We also buy in wood to increase our stocks.  We sell firewood in a number of different ways, see below for details.

Hardwood vs. Softwood

Traditional hardwoods (Oak, Sycamore, Ash, etc) when properly seasoned will burn slowly and provide plenty of heat.  Softwoods (pine, larch, etc) will burn quicker than hardwoods but are easier to light.  We sell both hardwood and softwood, softwood is approximately 20% cheaper than hardwood.

Seasoned vs. Unseasoned

Seasoning is the process of storing firewood logs to allow the sap and water within the wood to evaporate leaving a dryer product for burning.  If you burn unseasoned firewood some of the heat generated by burning is used to drive this water out of the logs reducing efficiency.  We sell both seasoned (pre-stored and ready to burn) and unseasoned (for you to store) logs.  Unseasoned logs are cheaper.  Why not buy your logs during the summer months and save yourself money?
