Match Reports

Beaumont Lions 0 V 1 Bushby Utd Cubs

09/03/08

We knew we were in for a tough game today as Bushby were playing for top spot, when the whistle went I was
pleased to see the team got straight in there, the fighting spirit was again on show, we were winning
most of the balls and had some great chances very early on, Diego found himself through on goal 2 or 3
times with only 1 defender and the keeper to beat, Bushby broke quick but they also got back quick, this
did cause us a few problem as Diego seemed to be on his own on each attack. Anyway just before the break
Bushby got a goal and took it well, this was the only time in the first half we were not quick to defend and
they took the chance well. We took the centre kick and again were straight in their half, 0-1 at half time.
The 2nd half was much of the same with both teams equally pitched, our defence and midfield were strong,
Brandon had another excellent game but found himself playing very deep which was leaving Cymon on his own
which he done realy well, this has worked for us in the last couple of games but we feel its time to push
Brandon a bit further up the park again. We feel we raised the bar again and played really good football
in the second half, great game guys.in the end we finish fourth in the league.well done Lions

Thurlaston Hawks 1 V 7 Beaumont Lions

24/02/08

Today we played in what can only be described as appalling football, the cold weather shouldn't bother
us we've had worse.Back to todays game, again at times we played good passing football from the back and
around the middle section but we seemed to hold on to the ball once we got near the goal, this is the main
area we feel is missing,we need to start getting the quick passes and shots in once we get near the
opposition box, we are taking to long to release the ball or take a shot something we never used to have an
issue with, again we feel the cold had a major role to play in this, apart from this we are still doing well,
we were unfortunate thurlaston scored to make it 1-1 ,but credit to the whole team and the supporters even
though we won our game easy  as winners for doing what the team did today with diego 3 joel lewis ashley and
kiran getting all the goals, again we will work on the killer finishing in training and come back with a good
display of football in two week's time.

Beaumont Lions 0 V 1 Birstall Utd

17/02/08

What a game, what a battle, what can I say,  against a very strong team, the team stood strong and played neat football, we showed a hunger and a passion to win the ball from the start, Diego up front had a great game getting stuck in to everything. Ashley was on the left wing, worked well as he was cutting in and swinging the ball into the box , Kiran had a great game standing strong in the tackles and really fighting for everything. Lewis ran the centre midfield like a power house and getting stuck in, Kiran showed skills in many area's taking on their  defenders and forcing the Birstall keeper into 2 very good saves.  At the break we really could not change anything as we were working as a unit, after a while we give Ashley a break who had not stopped running up and down the wing, we brought on Cameron,  he soon had the ball in the box and ran the left wing well, Cameron  made 2 strong tackles even though he was  suffering with his knee. Connor made 2 finger tip saves and looked very strong and confident today. the defence was brilliant not letting Birstal Utd into our area at all with Brandon and Cymon playing well as a unit it was hard for Birstall to score. This was our best game and we would hope this continues, the team have the ability and the speed and are now looking to move up the table, GREAT TEAM A BIG PAT ON THE BACK TO YOU ALL .

Beaumont Lions 5 V 2 Highfield Jags

After a great game last week, expectations were high, we arrived eventually at Beaumont Park, the
conditions were hot but not to bad. We kicked off and to be honest seemed to be playing Highfields off the
park, Highfields went ahead with an early goal from a penalty, but Beaumont are a very quick team on the
counter attack, this proved to be our game as Beaumont broke from the midfield and scored a well
taken goal. Again we kicked off and were playing good football and passing the ball well, Joel and Kiran
all had shots but some how did not score, again Beaumont broke away got behind their defence and again
scored another very good goal. This was now war and a battle started between Brandon and their forward
number 11, it came to a head after their No 11 gave Brandon a good shove whilst a team mate took care of
the ball, as Highfields started to shout at the team, Beaumont had other ideas and really didn't want
Highfields getting involved , from that moment on Beaumont Lions started to rule the park there was no
way Highfields were getting past Brandon, Cymon and cameron again, With true fighting spirit proving that they can
contain and compete with the top teams in our league, one day soon we will get a little luck. Great goals by
Joel Ashley Kiran and twp goals by top goal scorer Diego Ramos

Epworth Forest 3 Vs 3 Beaumont Lions

03/02/08

This was one of, if not our best game yet, the whole team deserves a pat on the back, they worked hard
for the ball, looked for the passes, held the ball up well and took the Epworth players on when
needed, the flowing football was there as were the shots when we got near the goal. The team have worked
well in training, they have practiced hard and seem to be putting it all to good use now in games. Our
midfield of Joel, Lewis, Kiran and Ashley all worked as a solid unit moving the ball across
the park with rhythm, the striker Diego worked hard for the ball and was passing out wide and
waiting to receive it back, Leiws's great corner led to a Diego goal and well deserved it was too.
The defence of Brandon, Cymon and Cameron looked good as they covered for each other
when needed. Connor didn't really have much to do until the dying few minutes when he
made 3 very good saves to  keep the Lions in the game. Our new player Kiran Fraine is
doing well and starting to settle in and find the positions. All in all a well deserved win,
as Epworth  were no push over, well done team

Woodgate Acorns 4 Vs 0 Beaumont Lions

27/01/08

Division six leaders Woodgate started their home game against forth placed Beaumont Lions. The home side
took the lead on 13th  minutes scoring from a cross. Kiran Fraine on his debut nearly
got the equaliser reacting quickest from a pass from Diego Ramos. Lewis Mills then put the ball in front of
him  to shoot from 10 yards only to go just wide from post, Beaumont Lions played very well in the first
half as Woodgate could not get though Lions defence as Brandon Cymon and Cameron played well in the defence
as Woodgate score line was a dull 1-0 half time. Second half Woodgate got a second flicking the ball on to
Woodgate player who slotted the ball home from just inside the area to make it 2-0. Beaumont pushed hard
in the second half. Beaumont failed to clear the ball from a corner only to allow Woodgate to get their 3rd goal.
Woodgate got a corner and Woodgate player ran through the Lions defence evading all tackles and smashed the
ball home team completing  a 4-0 win.Diego was unlucky not to get on the score sheet when his shot went
wide. Goalkeeper Conner Lucas who had another good game as keeper had made some very good save's that kept
Lions in the game. Beaumont are now pushing for third spot well done lads

Bushby Utd   6  Vs 3  Beaumont Lions
18/11/07
Beaumont lions played at Bushby Juniors in an
entertaining wet day fixture.
Bushby came out of the blocks quickest and opened the
scoring with their very first attack.
The remainder of the first half was fairly even with
Lions and Bushby going end to end scoring goals and
having plenty of the ball in the centre of the pitch.
The home side continued to cause problems on the break
and were unlucky not to add to their lead, whilst
Beaumonts  first decent chance, a well struck shot from
Joel o'Dinkemere was in the back of the net.
The first part of the second half saw Bushby dominate
into it only to see his effort cleared off the line by
Connor Lucas
Lions pushed on and when Diego  picked the ball up 8
yards out he had only one thing in his mind as he
buried the ball in the back of the net to make 5-3 to
Bushby.
Bushby caused all sorts problems for the visitor's
defensive line up and got their just rewards with a
well worked goal to make it 6-3 to bushby .

goals from
diego 1

Beaumont Lions  1 Vs 6 Woodgate Acorns

11/11/07

The first half started well with the league leaders
in determined mood after four wins in a row.
At half time lions were 3-1 down. after five
minutes  lions changed play. This seemed to encourage
the Lions team and they were good in place's.
Diego found a good shot and top gear to fend off
2 Woodgate defenders to finish off in style
but shot over the bar, giving the parents
something to cheer about. At the other end the pitch
Brandon and Cameron were having a storming
game in the heart of the defence giving a faultless
display from beginning to the end.
It was Cameron that got man of the match after another good
game. In the last five minutes lions tried to get
on top of Woodgate  but good defending and
missed chances cost us dear
