On Tuesday 13th May a permanent museum and display space was opened at Farnworth Library funded by North West Museums council and Bolton Metropolitan Borough.
Among the items on display are exhibits from the textile and mining industry and memorabilia belonging to Hylda Baker the famous comedienne born in Farnworth. This includes a polka dot dress as well as moustache she used when she did her Laurel and Hardy sketches.

You can also listen to a recording of Farnworthians like Alan Ball talking to John Motson and Kenneth Wolstenholme the famous commentator. There is also a recording of George Tomlinson (MP for Farnworth from 1938-1952). The exhibition can be seen during normal library opening hours.
