Welcome to the FARNWORTH and WESTHOUGHTON archive photograph series compiled by Ken Beevers.These books contain over 400 archive photographs all accompanied by interesting and detailed text illustrating the changes that have taken place in these areas of Bolton, Lancashire in the last 100 years. The author is a librarian who was based at Farnworth Library for many years and was an Area Librarian with Bolton Libraries. He is now a freelance librarian and local history consultant. In addition to these books Ken Beevers also does regular talks in the Bolton area, both on Farnworth and Westhoughton but also on Bill Naughton and other subjects. Bill Naughton author of Alfie lived in Bolton from 1914 to 1939 and Bolton Libraries have his archives in their collection.
