KaraokeKenTM has purchased a commercial use (in public houses etc.) licence for Van Basco's PC Karaoke software player and can play back MIDI KARAOKE files direct from purchased media and thus intends not to infringe any Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) copyright issues. Public Houses using KaraokeKenTM's services should hold an appropriate Performing Right Society (PRS) licence for "featured recorded music" and "featured live music" (Rates are believed to be... £6.84 + £3.43 = £10.27 + VAT as at 1 Oct 2004 for the first 100 persons capacity of the room. PRS has informed KaraokeKenTM by email that there are no PRS fees applicable for private parties
