Darlington 17 - Hartlepool 5. Darlington went behind to an early Hartlepool try in a game that saw them pinned in their own half for much of the first half. An improved second half performance saw the team score three tries courtesy of Captain Ding, Steph and a joint effort from Claire and Debs to complete a win that bodes well for the new season.

York RI 31 - Darlington 27. Darlington played from the off in this game with Division 2 York RI. Despite this the team found themselves trailing going into the last third of them match with York scoring breakaway tries off their chip and chase. A determined come back from Darlington saw them take a lead into injury time before the ref's dubious time keeping was called into question. York scored a try to win the game deep into injury time with what would be the last play of the game.
