Nurburgring
19/09/2005
On the way home from our holiday in
Germany this year I managed to end up at the Nurburgring.
(Just for a look round and to see if there was a chance of driving the circuit next day
you understand... ;-)
When we arrived at 5pm the place was alive
with cars and bikes parked up everywhere.
There was a constant flow of traffic entering and leaving the circuit:

After speaking to a couple of friendly Danes, we decided to
go on there and then instead of waiting until the next day.
Somehow I managed to persuade Linda to come with me - both to keep me sensible and to take
these photos.
Some of them are a bit wobbly - apparently it's quite difficult taking shots
from a speeding motor when you're trying to hold on at the same time. :-)
Anyway, these are the pics Lin took of our trip at 5:30pm that evening:

The poor old Supe was smokin' and the brake disks were
warped by the end of our 11 minute+ lap:
Luckily for me she was right as rain after an hour to cool off.

In the paddock aftewards we spotted not one, not two, but
THREE Zondas...

Off to a nearby hotel - what a bonus! This is the
hotel that the big names stay at whenever they're in town.
If you look top left in the first photo you'll see just how near to the circuit we were:

Next morning we decided to climb to the top of the Nurburg
itself and visit the old castle.
What a view!! You can see the circuit almost all the way round you.
