This modified relay controller will allow the choice of whether to have the main pop-up headlights emerge from the bonnet when just the sidelights are selected from the headlight switch.

This was a factory standard feature on the early MK1 cars, but was not available on the later, 1987 onwards, MR2's. This mod is only for the AW11 MK1, not the the later SW20's or Mk3's.

As standard, the MK1 MR2 will display the main headlamps as well as the bumper mounted sidelights, such as in the picture to the left.

After the modified relay coltroller is installed, when the sidelights rae turned on, the car will look like the picture on the right.

The modification allows the user to select which variant of of the above, whether that be standard or just bumper lights they wish to show. Handy come MOT time.....

The main headlamps are not illuminated when they remain in the down position, so there are no worries about overheating their housings or the bumper.

This mod carries a 6-month warranty from date of test, which is shown on a sticker on the case. Warranty is void if sticker removed or damaged. There are no user serviceable parts inside. All the modified relays are tested on my own MK1 MR2, as shown in the pictures.
