About Me !
My Name is
Kelvin John Fagan, I was born in 1957, which make me 45! (1957 seems a very long time ago now!)
It was in 1957 that Russia launched the first space satellite, Sputnik 1.
And in fact the launch of Sputnik plays its own part in the birth of the internet (oneof my main interests!) here is a links explain!
The followng are more general links.
Sputnik Link 1,
Sputnik Link 2. You may find these interesting?
This site is a bit of fun, have a listen! Some Music from 57!
A pint of beer cost just 9p and a letter cost under 2p to post.
I was born in a small town in the North West of England, Congleton, which is in the County of Cheshire.
My family moved from Congleton when I was almost nine, in 1966, the year England won the World Cup! ( Sorry! but this does not seem to be very well documented on the WWW! )
If you are mad on football, which I am not! You can follow England in the 2002 Word Cup!!Here
I now live in the beautiful University City of Cambridge in the UK.
I am married to Linda, and we have two son's, Sean and Marc, who now also have their own Homepage. I am employed by the University of Cambridge, at the Cavendish Laboratory, the Department of Physics, where I am a scientific photographer. The Research Group, of which I am a member,
PCS, has some special interests which requires a technique known as High Speed Photography. We have possibly the best collection of High Speed Cameras, of any university laboratory in Europe, if not the world! I joined the Cavendish Laboratory in 1986. Previously I worked at the The Welding Institute I had joined TWI in 1975. Now, once more, I have links with my old empoyers, as the University & TWI share resources in joint research projects.
The Cavendish Laboratory has produced something like 5 Nobel Prize winners. Many Scientific breakthroughs have been made at the Cavendish in some 125 years and as we head towards a new millenium I am sure there are more to come from this world famous institution ! 1997 saw the celebration of the Discovery of the Electron, 100 years ago! Sadly the web page which covered the event has now been deleted.
Apart from my family my other main interests are The Internet, Photography and MG cars
Here is another picture of my Border Terrier, her name is Katie.

I also like to listen to music, and I have quite a collection of albums, mostly on vinyl !!!.
Though now I am slowly replacing much of my collection with CD's. My many musical interests include Pink Floyd
who have strong links with Cambridge and the surrounding area.
Here is a pretty good link:
I am an an active member of the Cambridge and District MGOC I attend meetings on a regular basis I write and produce the
Club Website. I put my photographic skills to good use by illustrating all the MG websites that I am invloved in. The Clubs Image Gallery on the web site, is one of the best on the WWW, and contains not only pictures which I have taken, but many which have been sent to me from all over the world. Recently my wife bought me a Sony Digital Camcorder, not only is it a video camera, but I can get still images from it also, see my Digital Camera Page
Here is a list of links to the websites that I maintain or have worked on.
