,I served at the DF station for about  6 months on detachment from Gutersloh. I have found a photo of the Battle of Britain Parade there in 1956 would you like it for your site if so will try to get it scanned   Mick Bow man       'THE FIXER'

The fixer unit was a small once  mobile unit which was located out on the heath land surrounding the asten tower at winterberg.

The staff shared the domestic site closer to town but did their own  mysterious 'fixing' inside their glorified garden shed on wheels.

During the heavy snow of the winter, this was a very lonely and isolated place to Work, especially through the night

The name is Noel Weir, used to be a member of the fixer crew at Winterberg.
Attachment is a few photos I found after seeing the web site for the first time, thanks to Roy Adams letting me know of its existance.
Nice to see some old familiar faces, even if now the names escape me.

 The car is one bought joint with Paddy, second name cant remember now,  he is one one of the photos in the Winterberg bar on the website.

The others might be of interest, groups in the bar, Lud is one of them, group of two with a girl the one wearing specs is Lucky one of the yanks, the others snow of course, and one of yours truly, I can't belive I used to have so much hair.
