The Pack Horse, on Woodhouse Lane, was built to take advantage of the passing pack-horse trade travelling between Leeds and Otley. A toll-bar used to be near the site. This 'attractive' building was subsequently rebuilt and the pub became a favourite haunt of the local students. The pub is opposite Leeds University.
