So why the name 'Mechbus'? Well as my user name on the VW chat rooms is Mechanoid, I have always referred to my Type 2 as 'The Mechbus' since joining the forums. Before that it was really only referred to as 'The Bus'. Poor thing! Personally I used to call it 'Widget' as I had fitted all sorts of widgets on it here and there. Well! it's no fun if you don't!
Although the bus had been off the road for 9 years and has work done on it for the last 5 years until recently it looked like this, which to the casual observer, looks like it is ready to be collected for scrap!! However, like an iceberg, you can't see most of the work that has been carried out over the five years. (The blue sliding door was a scrappy temporary one while I repaired the original),
