SCAMP

Hi! I'm Scamp.  I was a tramp

Until these lovely people took me in.

They got me from a dogs home,

I think they liked my grin.

Now I have to say, it made my day,

I'm well fed and they're nice to me too.

But I've got this problem that won't go away,

I've a terrible urge to chew!

They were kind when they came home to find

Their mat and their slippers in shreds,

But when it kept happening again and again,

They muttered and shook their heads.

They gave me a gnome and a rubber bone,

But it didn't do the trick.

I pulled down the curtains and chewed them,

 And it made me sick!

They did have a fit and their smiles slipped a bit,

When I chewed through the wire to the telly!

But Mrs cried "OH!, you could have been KILLED!"

And she gave me a  rubber welly!

They were still charming, but it was alarming

When I heard one of them say,

"You should have left him in the dogs home!"

Oh dear!  I dreaded the day.

Oh what a fright!  But it's alright!

Mrs told me so today.

Whatever I do and whatever I chew,

She'll NEVER send me away.
