POETRY ON HOLIDAY IN DEVON A COBBERLY, WOBBERLY TALE In Clovelly, North Devon It costs four pounds per person To walk down that cobberly, hobbly, knobbly, lobberly, wobbly street But when you do finally arrive at the bottom A sight of such breathtaking beauty greets That all thought of payment is quickly forgotten Though it did occur to me, how are we going to get up again?
IT MUST BE LIKE THE FORTH BRIDGE
I would imagine you'd be kept quite busy If you were a painter and decorator in Sidmouth With their preference for painting buildings in bright pastel shades And an abundance of seagulls with bad toilet habits
BEAUTIFUL SIDMOUTH
Oh to be in beautiful Sidmouth On a glorious summers day To sit and watch the waves crashing onto a pebbly beach Can be spoilt rather, if you happen to fall within reach Of a bombarding seagull
