POETRY I REMEMBER STILL, DO YOU?
On a bank beside a stream, When we were kids we used to dream. We talked for hours, days were long, Sunny days, life was a song.
The years passed, you moved away, Didn't meet again for many a day. I had a husband you had a wife, And solemn vows to keep for life.
We knew we couldn't hurt these two, But you loved me, I still loved you. We savoured stolen moments, And no-one ever knew.
We'd talk about those happy times, When we were free and hearts were light. When the years stretched before us, And the future looked so bright.
We hid the pain of parting, It was so hard to pretend. But we knew at the starting, Some day it had to end.
There could be no happy ending, Or blessing from above. Too many lives to shatter, From our forbidden love.
Our path have never crossed again, Now I'm old and so are you. But I have not forgotten love, I remember still, do you?
