SCOTTISH SECTION
For those North of the border and some Welsh!
Scottish Section news

Firstly can I apologize to Section member Duncan Laing for the very late publication of his report about the SWTVC weekend in September; my computer has been playing up and I must thank Lynn Prentice for sending in Section reports.
September Two-Day Run
In 2004. the Scottish Western Car Club, awash with cash at the time, organised
a two-day September Run with all hotel bills paid, and fifty-two cars took part. In
2005 there was a repeat, hut this time it was on a ‘pay as you go’ basis and sixteen
cars took part including the Javelin of Duncan and Betty Laing. The start was from
the old Argyll Motor Works in Alexandria, then a leisurely run up Loch Lomnond side,
to lunch at the Green Wellie followed by a visit to the Cmachan Power Station. It is
a pumped storage scheme and generates 240 Megawatts, or in old-fashioned terms
320.000 horsepower. For those that wanted, there was a run in a l.p.g. bus into the
heart of the mountain to see the Turbine/Generator Hall. The overnight stay was at
the Falls of Lora hotel in Connel. Sunday’s run visited Sea World at Benderloch, then
on to Invereray and on to finish at upmarket Cameron House on Loch Lornondside.
A good event. A pity other Jowett owners in the SW Club missed it. -Duncan Laing

Can I wish all Section members (and the rest of us? -Ed.) a merry Christmas and
A Happy New Year. -John John stone
