North West Section news
The North East Section Christmas Dinner will be on Sunday. 11th December at
200pm at The Marton Hotel and Country Club, Middlesborough. Albert Kraus has
kindly made the arrangements (tel 01642 596188); please let him know ASAP if you
are attending so that he can confirm numbers.
Whilst on the subject of food, we have had an invitation from the Secretary of
the Midland Section to join them on Sunday 12th February near Nuneaton for a New
Year Dinner. Please see further details on page 17, or contact Peter Tribble on
01908 226223.
My TV debut in the programme Castle in the Country on BBC2 was unfortunately
rearranged to Monday 21st November; it was advised after the Jowetteer deadline.
At the time of writing (19th Nov.) I am still anxious about how it will turn
out. Those who watched on the 17th would get a clue about the rearranged date as
Nikki Chapman introduced the piece about a rather nice MG as being the first of
two classic car features. Eric Platt of the North West Section c-mailed me to
say that footage of my car driving over the North Yorkshire Moors was used as a
cut-away shot on the Monday programme that featured the invention of ‘cats
eyes’.
Because of the Section Christmas Dinner, there will not be a Section Meeting in
December. The next meeting will be at The Wheatsheaf at Hutton Rudby on Thursday
12th January at 800pm. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everybody...
