The New Globe is proposing to transform the military fort on Governors Island into a 21st-century American interpretation of the Globe. The theater is designed by Lord Norman Foster and developed in partnership with Shakespeare's Globe in London. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Kline, Sam Mendes, Al Pacino, Estelle Parsons, Mark Rylance and others provide artistic leadership. For more information, see http://www.newglobe.org.
