The SBD is here to help those researching brush or broom maker
ancestors and their families.
We have many
members in the UK and Worldwide.
What
do I get as a Member?
Each New Member will receive four back issues of the SBD Journal,
either of their choice* or those the administrator feels will suit
their area of research. (*subject to availability)
N.B. These Journals are no longer being produced and will be
collectors' items in years to come.
You will be given
authority to use the SBD' s Private
Bulletin Board, on which you will
be able to read members' messages and post your own via e-mail. The Board
also contains many articles, text files and pictures which you can
download. You
may also post your own text files and pictures. Messages to the Board
are permanent and will be stored in an archive which can be viewed by
other members.
This
will last a lifetime!!!
All SBD members may have free
searches of all UK censuses from 1841 to 1901 with a copy of the actual
census sheet sent by email.
All SBD members may have a free
search of UK BMD records for reference numbers. We will also order UK
certificates on behalf of overseas members.
You may purchase the unique
publications, pictures
and video produced by the SBD including the extremely rare 19th Century
"Lists of
Journeyman Brushmakers", that list UK brushmakers by area.
Your details
will be
published on the "Members Interest Names" section of this site, and
your contact details will be made available on the Brushmakers Board so
that other
members may contact you and vice versa.
(details can include your
home address and a phone number, or just an email address, if you
desire)
(information on how to
access the
BBS will be sent after receipt of your membership fee)
There
is no time limit
on your membership once you have paid your initial fee!
Please note: I view members' messages to the board regularly and will
reply to all enquiries there.
