The Sun Inn was built in 1750 and
retains a considerable presence on the edge of Eastwood Town Centre.
Its solid red brick appearance belies a warm and comfortable interior
where every effort has been made to meet the demands of the modern
visitor. The Sun Inn has 15 bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities.
All rooms contain colour satellite television, radio, trouser
press and full tea and coffee making facilities.
The Conference Room seats approximately eighteen
Classroom style or fifteen Boardroom style and offers a wide range
of equipment for delegate use.The Inn has a wealth of historical
connections. In 1832, a meeting on the premises of local colliery
proprietors led to the establishment of the Midland Railway. The
proximity of the birthplace of D. H. Lawrence makes this an ideal
base to explore Lawrence country and gain an insight into his
background.
