Cassiobury Park is a well kept open space, bounded on the western side by the river Gade, and the Grand Union canal. The park features a children's paddling pool, tennis courts, a bowling green and a croquet lawn. In summer a children's train is also in operation. On the nearest Saturday to the 5th of November, Watford Round Table hold a free large fireworks display in the park. On various Bank Holidays, a fair is also set up there. See also Parks
Also in the High Street are an award winning night-club (Destiny), Watford Museum and many pubs.
Access to the town centre is very good, with two BR (or whatever they are nowadays) stations: Watford Junction (10 minutes from the High Street), and the High Street station itself. See Transport.

McDonalds drive-in). There is also a new Sainsbury's superstore, opposite
an Asda superstore in North Watford. Both of these have very cheap petrol,
making the Dome roundabout the only one in Watford where you can buy petrol
on every corner! The area is divided into two by
Garston Park
, a half km square of open space.
Several senior schools are in the area, namely Parmiter's, St. Michael's Catholic School and various junior schools.
North Watford library is located next door to Asda, and although smaller than the central library, can obtain books from the same resources.
West Herts College also has Legatt's Campus in North Watford.

park contains several high-tech companies.

At the Leavened side of the district, lies the ex-Leavened Airdrome, which is now being turned into major film and TV studios. The James Bond film "Goldeneye" was the first film to be made here, and some of the sets could be seen from the road. A new multi-screen cinema and entertainment complex has just opened on the North Orbital Road.
